Travel information to Campbell River

Situated on the east side of Vancouver Island, BC, Campbell River is the gateway to the North Island. There are a number of transport options for you to get here from Vancouver, the United States or beyond via flights or ferries. 

Driving/Ferry

Departing from Vancouver, BC, there are a number of different ferry options in order for you to cross the Strait of Georgia between Vancouver Island and the mainland. More information regarding BC Ferries, you can book online or call 1 (888) 223 3779:

Tsawwassen, Vancouver to Swartz Bay, Victoria

This option is for those that want to visit the scenic city of Victoria, the capital of British Columbia. Be prepared for a longer travel day as you'll need to travel up the Inland Island Highway (19) North. This drive will take you between 3.5 to 4 hours depending on stops. 

Tsawwassen, Vancouver to Duke Point, Nanaimo

This option is best for those travelling from Vancouver International Airport, or from the United States. The ferry will take you north to Nanaimo where you'll need to drive roughly 2 hours on the Inland Island Highway (19) North.

Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver to Departure Bay, Nanaimo

Departing from Horseshoe Bay, this ferry will take you to Nanaimo where you'll need to drive on the Inland Island Highway (19) North for roughly 2 hours.

There are a number of flight options in and around Campbell River and the surrounding areas:
